I am a constant frequent flyer at Flight Coffee Co., specifically their Bedford location. In the year or so I’ve been getting my caffeine fix from them, I have been wildly impressed by their consistency, messaging and care for my allergies.
To start, Flight is not an allergen-free kitchen, but I have never once had a problem there. Whenever I ask, they always note my allergies in my order and the slip that comes out with my bagel always shows them. Not only are they consistent with this, but they actively care about their customers, seeking and responding to feedback.
Over the course of the last two season changes, they have rolled out their seasonal syrups. As with any time I order something new to myself, I asked if there were nuts in the syrups (which are made in-house). The first time, the owner was there and overheard me, and we had a lovely conversation. She even made sure to ask me how I liked it.
After the second time, I came back a few days later and a sheet was posted by the cash register listing the ingredients of all their syrups, which the baristas could quickly reference.
It’s easy to turn an allergy girlie into a devoted fan of your food establishment if you do things like this!
Admittedly, as Filght is a cafe I haven’t ventured that deeply into their menu, but their breakfast sandwiches and avocado toast look delightful. Never mind their pastry case, which is filled with mouth-watering donuts and cronuts, some of which are vegan and/or gluten free.
Personally, their chai and matcha are what keep me coming back. But they also make their own blends of coffee, espresso and tea. It’s no wonder the line to get a cup is nearly into the kitchen most mornings.
Food allergy consciousness isn’t the only way the folks at Flight show they care about their customers. On top of working to foster social justice, Flight is always looking out for the community. In September, all of the proceeds from one day went to the NAMI efforts for suicide prevention. At the time of this publishing, Flight is doing a wall of remembrance, where customers can write the name of someone they miss on a cup and put it up on a wall so everyone can come together for one another this season.
Flight Coffee Co. has not only earned its logo sticker on my water bottle, but my continued patronage.
